Andrea Seri, president of Fikissimo, is also an architect and graphic designer, and he is utilizing his professional experience to take the company started by his great-grandfather, Giuseppe Seri, in 1897 into international markets. Although the economic challenges in Italy, and in much of Europe, have been at the forefront since he assumed leadership of the company five years ago, Seri is resolute in his advocacy for authentic Italian design.

“The biggest challenge is to stay afloat in a difficult time for the economy, for politics and for the Italian banking system,” Seri said. “We must continually deal with a suffocating bureaucracy, which fortunately still does not suppress our desire for creativity.”
